Midwinter in Russell

The other day we were visiting Kaitaia. It was cold and damp and breezy – and this is the “winterless north”.

We found lots of caterpillars on a swan plant, so brought about twenty caterpillars home.

So once again (I said I would NEVER do it again) I have caterpillar poo all over my kitchen table. Gaelle (from France) is fascinated.

No wonder I have no husband!

Notice the little cow photograph holders which have become very useful in holding pupae. (I love cows; I have a collection of them!)
