Spotted while out visiting my mother,one of her neighbours has used mosquito nets for beds to protect her caterpillars .

The mosquito nets are great for protecting your plants and if you don’t want any eggs laid on the plants. Even with bamboo sticks in a pot and an old bicycle tire tied to the top of a middle stake and the net placed over the potted swan plant 🙂

The caterpillars are protected some what from predators (wasps, praying mantis, etc) but when they go onto the netting and a wasp is about they will do their darndest to get the caterpillar, and sometimes they succeed. Which is heart breaking to see! but there are other caterpillars who will make it all the way through 🙂
