At last. Today a single Monarch has blessed us with its arrival.”‘Importation of caterpillars and eggs over the last 3 weeks has resulted in no caterpillars and no Chrysallis. Both our large Swan plants are smothered in aphids, as such I don’t see this Monarch as being our saviour. Also we see this season as a total failure.

Hang in there, Bob. My plants are also covered in aphids.

There should be a fleet (?) of ladybirds on their way to rescue you and your plants… and the monarchs will come. We could have another two or three months of them yet, depending on your location.

Meanwhile, suggest you feed your plants well to help make them stronger and better equipped to fight off the debilitating aphids.
