Australian visitor to an Auckland garden

    Found by Marianne McR a resident at Pinesong Village in Green Bay Auckland. On May 19 M noticed an unusual butterfly alight on the ageratum flowers where she was gardening. She managed to get 2 photos on her phone. Next day she was telling the village grounds-man about it and then he showed her what he had found that morning – the same butterfly now dead, the body a little damaged. Marianne took it and carefully pinned it flat and has mounted it and the two photos in a frame. She told her sister who contacted John and she sent the photos for us to share. It was a Blue Tiger, quite a rare visitor but very prolific in Queensland this year. Can photos be posted in the forum?
