Cabbage whites also lay eggs on turnips – I can vouch for this. As a child I used to raise them, much to my father’s disgust. Their chrysalids are unusual, with the sling around their ‘waist’to attach themselves to their chosen anchor. I also love the butterflies’ beautiful turquoise eyes
