Hi, I have had a yellow leaf fall from a swan plant which has 3 Eggs on it. Is there anyway I can save them?

I sometimes poke a hole in a good leaf & thread the fallen leaf through it, up to where the eggs are, so that hopefully the hatchlings will move across. I am sometimes astounded how far a hatchling can move!

Thank you Jacqui for that video. Best on the internet. Now I can collect eggs, sterilize them and raise them safely in my caterpillar castle free of disease. Wonderful news!!!

    Hello Angiekins77

Yes! They are not doomed. You might learn a trick or two from this video on our YouTube channel.

You don’t need to follow this technique to the T but can adapt some of what I do to suit your own process. If the leaves are yellow they will not provide suitable food for the hatchlings… so you need to offer fresh, new leaves with the eggs for when the caterpillars hatch.

    Good luck!

    Jacqui
