    Hi
I’ve just bought two swan plants but was told they are without caterpillars and so for feeding only. I’d like to have eggs laid on them so my class can learn about the life cycle of monarchs so am wondering if simply putting the plants outside is enough? Will butterflies come lay eggs on them or do I need to do more? I really don’t have a clue! Thanks for any help 🙂

Yes, it is usually enough to simply put the plants outside. Give it a try. If you don’t see Monarch butterflies flitting around in a couple of weeks, come back on the forum and say where you are, and someone local will likely be able to give you a caterpillar or two.
