It's been five hours and this butterfly has not hardens its wings

    Please help, I have found this butterfly just fallen from a cocoon and learned to place him vertically in a tree ,that was five hours ago he has yet to uncurl his wings I’m not sure if his situation is dire or if I can somehow still help him , please advise

    Sorry Ilona there would be nothing you could do for it at that stage. I am not sure if you are in New Zealand ( where it is winter ) or not but read my post below ‘Winter Wildlife’ which might be helpful for your understanding of what has happened
