    from what i have read they do it on the ground..two were flying around 4 metres up linked..flew into a tree for a while and then flew off again..is this natural or were they having problems?

    thanks for that Bernie, Can’t believe everything you read then 🙂 I have seen white, common blue (Swallowtails in the Dunedin butterfly house as well) on plants too, never witnessed it in the air before..thought it might be like dogs when they get stuck.

    This is very common Yvonne and quite a few species do it.
