Help!! I recently found a monarch butterfly laying in the grass of our local park with his 2 right wings torn. I took him home and gave him some milk weed to eat. I am totaly willing to fix the broken wings but I’m missing some parts. I don’t know what type of glue to use on the wing. I also only have one wing that isn’t in that good of condidtion. How can I find more wings?

Last summer I fixed a torn wing by cutting a small section from a dead wing that matched the location of the tear. This I attached by using a product called PROS-AIDE which is a medical adhesive. When the butterfly was released the next day off he went. PROS-AIDE can be gotten at chemists in NZ.

    Hello there

    The best website is here:

They should be able to help you. Of course, you’d need another dead butterfly so you have some wings — regarding the glue, it’s probably best we dont’ advise you, as we’re in New Zealand — little country down in the South Pacific — and anything we have here might not be available in your part of the world.

    Good luck!
