I’ve just recently started tagging.
I notice when recording, it gives you the option of wild or reared – I am just wondering I should put?
I have plants in my garden, the caterpillars live on the plants. When they become hardened chrysalis, I move them into a little butterfly enclosure so that I can tag them. I release them as soon as they are good to go.
I do not feed them etc. The butterfly house is purely to be able to tag them.
What would this fall under?

For butterflies like that that I tag, I say reared, given that they have grown and developed in my garden with plants that I have provided specifically for them. I would call a wild butterfly one that has arrived from somewhere else.
