Hi all,
I see David from Waipara has emailed a link to the MBNZT Google group. It’s http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7988232.stm
It’s worth a read & has a couple of great pictures from Peter Eeles (author of http://ukbutterflies.co.uk ). Nice to see it mentions that most gardeners can be as bad as farmers on chemical & spray use. I would also take a guess that our (NZ) Admirals would take to using Ivy for hibination as well. Would be good if someone could prove or comment on this.
I think that the early March cold snap we had has knocked a few back as well, since late summer numbers seem to be down in Auckland (even the Whites!).
Robert.
