Terry, unfortunately cold hard print doesnt portray accurately things like tone of voice, body language etc…. such is the nature of the internet, and as such, you have taken me the wrong way. I respectfully disagree with much of what youve said. For starters, I can assure you I was not “so upset” and I dont need to calm down, nor do I need to step back. Nor do I “know it all” in the way you insinuate, and have presumed. What I do know is what constitutes genuine Christianity, and I know that from His word. I also do know it is perfectly legitimate to contend for the faith. If you have a problem with that then I suggest you take it up with God (The God of the Bible, that is) as He expects no less from us.

(No sarcasm intended) I didnt know you were part of the admin Terry. Perhaps Id better go and check. Havent been there lately. Whatever, …Darren hasnt caused a row. I have merely put some questions to him, which I feel are fully justified from the comment he made, and which Id like to know the answer to, so we all know where we stand.

“If you remember you once had a go at me because I mentioned “Evolution” in a post of mine, but I did not take offence”

I dont believe I wouldve had a “go” at you either, but if you were condoning Evolution I probably wouldve challenged you about it, especially if you call yourself a Christian, which is perfectly justifiable since you cant reconcile the two which I can prove to any willing hearer/reader. Seems to me, just the fact that you’ve said I had a “go” at you means you have taken offense, otherwise why did you remember it???. Anywayz, I’ll need to go back and find the thread. Can you remember where it is or tell me what the thread is? Thanks.

Ummm “persecution complex” ??? Another insinuation??? Whatever you mean by that, it aint the Bible type which is the only type Im interested in. We certainly dont need to “develop” it either.

“I am willing to discuss Christianity with you or anyone else at any time,”
OK, if youre still interested. Do you want me to ask Jacqui for your Email Addy or do you have an open one?

“We all know that butterflies hold a spiritual value for many people”

No, I didnt know that Jacqui, unless youre talking about nature worshippers who simply put creation above the Creator. Im on dialup and so I cant view it, but I suspect Lepids comment is valid.

I know one thing for sure … butterflies as lovely as they are, DONT save anyones life in ANY event. At best they would only be equal to many other things that God uses as He controls the affairs of this life.

Darren, since when has this place excluded any mention of religion in general and I STRONGLY suspect Christianity in particular? And if you are, then please tell me what the boundaries are on how much is too much? I’d put it to you that you need to be “fair” about this too, and draw up precise boundaries that are fair for all. Youre gonna need to be consistent. Oh and is this just you speaking or is it the whole admin???? For example our own Jacqui has just recently used “spiritual language” in a recent thread. Have you come down on her for this? We all know there are words synonymous with religion in general, and “spiritual” most CERTAINLY is a perfect example.

If you are going to ban outright any mention of religious things, then you’d better also do likewise with ANYTHING to do with the Environmental Movement. After all, it has been said, “underlying the Environmental movement, is the belief that mankind is the product of evolutionary forces inherent within the universe”. We all know the only alternative to Evolution is Christianity. Both are a belief system, and both are diametrically opposed. For those who are willing to be HONEST in their research, Evolution is a fraud and a lie.

Anywayz, over time, members here, myself included, have engaged in some “interesting conversation”, which I believe is healthy. People ultimately still get to choose what they believe at the end of the day.

I really enjoy coming here from time to time, and chatting to interesting people, about lovely butterflies and birds etc. If someone mentions something about a belief system, then it should be good enough for me to refute it, and it goes both ways. Anyone is free to challenge mine. If Im going to be gagged from mentioning Jesus Christ or God or sin or or orrrrr… you get the picture…. then this place is no longer nice place to be.

Id put it to the admin that you could perhaps have a seperate “lounge” area like most other forums have, where people can just “hang out”.

Oh and Lepid, never fear, God said “Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away”. Whether by snails or any other creature.

    Cheers

Awwww thats lovely Jacqui. How nice. Down here a lot of nests this year have met with disaster :-(((((. A little while ago it was so windy I reckon most of the mums sitting, got tipped out of their nests :-((((. Mumma BB included. We think this is her 5th attempt at brooding a batch now. Heres hoping :-)))). We also find a lot of eggs on the ground with holes in them. Grrrrr Something gets them out of the nests.

The fledglings are sooooooooooOOOOOoooooo cute :-).

WHAT IS IT ABOUT MY BLACKBIRD ANYWAY? PART II (sequel to an earlier thread)

    Part 1
We know its usual, – everywhere
Theres hardly any – birds ?round here
But seems to be – this time of year
    Suddenly – more birds appear
    A little thought ? I cant deny
Its that dang Blackbird ? that is why
Coz while she contemplates and sits
The other birds get tasty bits?
of yummy chicken from the pan
and lotsa worms ? just while they can?
and maybe build a nest or two?
to do just what a bird should do.

    Part2 (meanwhile?thoughts of our blackbird?. Im sure ? )

Do I stop what I began
Building all the nests I can
Or start again – build till the end
Or do up last years nest again

Second verse just like the first
Is it best – or is it worst
To make a nest just where I am
And lay some eggs as I have planned

    Choices choices – finally
Ive laid where no one can get me
The years Ive laid here – come to 3
and where I was – initially.

Well unfortunately its not down here Jacqui … blow! 🙂 Only other thing I could suggest is maybe the airports got it and now using it for a windsock?

Joking aside, I hope you find it! That would brass me off too.

Hey Stefan, great pik. Yep that looks like an Addy Pillar to me. Doesnt look like a looper. All Admirals have those little spikes, but they can vary greatly in colour especially when they get bigger. Ive found the tiny ones are almost always a very dark and shiny-ish brown.

The Admirals are much harder than Monarchs to deal with as far as egg laying goes. Ive found the only way to keep things under control is to MAKE SURE I keep my plants covered and only let Mrs Addy have access for a short time, otherwise they’ll bone all your plants out, and then you end up with starving pillars. Yeah, same ol story.

…. unfortunately I didnt get a lot of choice though when I brought back some plants from the wild. They mustve had eggs on them already, coz I had between 70 to 80 chrysalides all attached inside an enclosure my hubby made. I still have over 1/2 of them to hatch yet. Only had one casualty so far, and theyve all been yellows so far.

Nah, if you know me, I wont be doing that judi. Anywayz I see the button has disppeared to vote, so me thynx theyve jacked it up by logging ip addy or something, so they know who’s poots has been used to vote. I could circumvent this easy but I wouldnt do that. I dont think theres any point in the end, in fudging prospective results 🙂

Long live the KINGFISHER!!!!!!!! oh and judi, youre right, his plumage [especially the NZ Kingfisher :-))))))] is utterly gorgeous. His “cheep cheep cheep cheep cheeps” (usually 5) are very satisfying to me. See, Im just totally biased towards Kingies thats all. 🙂

judi, I have my overwintering butterflies in a net enclosure and it saves their lives until I can find a cluster AND it saves them untold damage from just letting them fly free in the room and bashing against the window. The day will come when they are set free. From what Regan says I dont see whats wrong with displaying butterflies and that would only be for a short amount of time. How are the public going to get reasonably close if they are just let out to fly away??? Whats the point of that???

Nah, I generally don’t like registering to a site unless Im going to spend a reasonable amount of time there. As I said though, its understandable you register for voting, as all in sundry would cast as many votes as they could, and we all know that result would be far from honest.

    Long live the Kingfisher!!!!!!! :-)))))))

Im with you bernie. Black netting is GREAT!. I have some real old stuff that unfortunately is now getting “rotten”. If I could find some like it I would get it again. Its fine black plastic, with about 1/4 inch holes. Lets sun in, and keeps things out, though not everything.

No voting for pooks for me. Sorry Gill. No prizes for guessing who I’d vote for. Trouble is (though understandable) you have to join or register to these sites to vote, so looks like my Kingfishers wont be getting my vote either. :-(((((((.

Hey Jane I’ve only just checked in sorry, and I HOOOOPe Im not to late. Im still interested in your nettles, especially that biggie! PLEEEEEAZE KEEP THAT PETE AWAY!!!! and hawgtie him if necessary :-)))))

When can I come over and fetch it/them? I’ll check poots tomorrow morning. Ive found that nettles keep extremely well in water, and I’ll probably bring it home with it dunked in a bucket with a bit of water or something. This will be great as We estimate Addy numbers in the range of 70-90. Too hard to count! WHy do I get the feeling Ive been through this B4? Ive got some biggies coming on and there’d be about 12 that should going into a J soon. Cant wait to see who’s who?

“Anybody got a “Pete Net ” heeheee

Mmmmmm but thats for a different type of ‘Addy’ 😉 Pete.net.com?????? or um perhaps Pete.net.co.nz ???

    Cheers Swansong
