This colourful moth first appeared in NZ in Auckland in about 1980, presumably accidentally imported from Australia.

Makes soft brown oval silken case covered with small lichen fragments.
Adult/Imago
Colourful, metallic female. Male not metallic.

North Island, at least as far south as Foxton
Habitat
Cities, parks, gardens.
