This moth's beautiful colouration lends it a protective resemblance to the dead fronds of its host plant, the silver fern/ponga.
Green with dark dorsal blotches before last moult. Feeds on silver fern fronds.
Pupates in moss or ground detritus.
Colouration mimics silver fern fronds. October to April. Rests on silver fern foliage by day. Flies from dusk visiting flowers, attracted to light.
