Found in most parts of NZ although now rare in Auckland, the species has only one generation each year. The moth is classified as 'At Risk, Relict' because much of its habitat is under threat from land development. Elimination of its host plants has resulted in some local extinctions.

Larva
Large, angular and green-coloured with thin red and white lines. Well camouflaged.

Flying August-December, most common September-October, usually found within 800m from a host plant.
