The larvae feed from a spinning on the foliage of a range of narrow-leaved plants, both native and introduced.

Wide range of plants, with preference for narrow leaves, e.g. manuka, kanuka, matai, Douglas fir, and macrocarpa.

Feeds from spinning on plant foliage.
Pupa
Pupates in or near feeding place.
Adult/Imago
Similar to other common leaf-rollers (e.g. Ctenopseustis obliquana), but series of black dots or black line present along side of abdomen. Mainly September to April. Active at night, attracted to light.
