This is an endemic genus of 29 named species quite common in NZ.

Adult/Imago
Many species (e.g. P. productata) with "flash coloration" (bright yellow hindwings displayed in flight, concealed at rest). Males with feathery antennae. Many species found all year, mainly October to April. Fly at night, attracted to light and flowers.
