A very distinctive little moth with metallic markings and broad, rounded wings.

Larva
Underneath daisy leaves in loose silk webs. Also on thistles and Craspedia.
Pupa
Pupates in a silk cocoon under leaf.
Adult/Imago
Distinctive metallic markings and broad, rounded wings. Short jerky walks when settled on a plant. December to April.
Forewing Length
5 - 6mm
Range
NZ except the extreme south of the South Island.
Habitat
Open spaces, including dunes, forest clearings, grasslands, shrublands.
